Hello, I'm Mike Rosenstark, experienced college admissions consultant, SAT and ACT tutor with a career spanning over 35 years in the North Jersey area (and all around the world courtesy of Zoom).

Over the years, I've helped over a thousand students on their journeys to excel at standardized tests and gain entry to some of the most prestigious colleges. My tutees would say Iā€™m energetic and have a great sense of humor, which makes our sessions engaging and enjoyable. Many of my former students have gone on to achieve remarkable success in their academic pursuits and beyond, including Dr. Jordyn Feingold, who recently quoted me, and then attributed my quote to me in the footnotes of her new book, which you can find here. And none other than Lindsay Berra has told me that, without my guidance, she never would have become a professional writer. Consider me a proud educator!

Having grown up in West Orange, NJ, I owe a large part of my academic success to my exceptional PSAT Scores, which helped to earn me a National Merit Scholarship in 1984. This sent me on my way to Rutgers University to study music composition and economics, neither of which led to career paths I really saw myself going down.

While completing my undergrad I found a job SAT/ACT tutoring for a large company which I soon outgrew. I started booking lessons on my own, eventually creating my own educational content and instructional videos out of my now world-famous basement. Along the way I started helping students with their college applications, essays, and lists of colleges to apply to as well; those activities make up about 50% of how I spend my time with students these days.

I now have 2 kids who have both graduated from Livingston High School. My son, Steven, scored an almost-perfect 35 on the ACT, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Rutgers Economics program, and is writing this part about himself right now. My daughter, Izzi, is currently studying TV Production and Mythology at Montclair State University. My wife, Marci, has taught at both Heritage Middle School and Livingston High School, and is now the career transition coordinator for Essex Valley School in West Caldwell.

My goals as a college admissions consultant and tutor go beyond just helping my students achieve high scores and gain admission to their dream schools: it's about instilling in them a lifelong love for learning, empowering them with the skills and confidence they need to succeed in college, and then their careers and lives beyond schooling. With my years of experience and passion for teaching, I'm committed to helping my students reach their full academic and educational potential.
